Who Still Cares?

Who Still Cares? is a Stockport-based community arts programme (June 2026–February 2027) bringing together newly arrived, emerging and established local artists and residents. Participants create work exploring home, movement and belonging—or any theme they choose—across a range of media, culminating in a final exhibition. Along the way, they'll discover Stockport's wider art and culture scene. It's about process, connection, shared and emerging creativity, hopes and dreams and belonging

Events

Collaborative Art
We lead together: Newly arrived artists and local creators stand side by side, holding space for song, stitch, memory and lens. Every session is a partnership — equal, bold, and beautifully balanced.
Who Still Cares?
is where stories meet and creativity heals — a nine-month arts journey weaving 20 new Stockport voices with 20 long-held ones. Not giving, but sharing; not one-sided, but mutual.

Explore The World

Who Still Cares bridges worlds through art- a welcoming space where newly arrived and local artists create, connect and inspire one another. Every brushstroke, every story, every shared idea builds something bigger than any one of us alone. Together, we turn “us and them” into “we,”

How we do it

From workshops and shared meals to heritage walks and film, we turn exclusion inside out. Spaces that once felt distant become ours — museums, galleries, streets, all reborn through shared hands.

The Artist

Hannah Wheeler is a contemporary British artist whose atmospheric abstract oil paintings turn overlooked textures and fleeting everyday moments into dreamlike, otherworldly compositions.

As coordinator of  Who Still Cares?, she facilitates collaborative creation between artists and community members – new arrivals and long‑term residents alike whose lives have been shaped by transitory journeys. Together they weave stories of migration, displacement and belonging into a living legacy of what matters.
